EU project “Živa štrigarija” – Bay of Pohorje and Istria
The main objective of the project, involving six Slovenian and Croatian partners, is to ensure the active preservation of the fairy tradition of Pohorje and Istria. This is to be achieved through the design of an innovative integrated cross-border cultural and tourist product of the Živa štrigarija – “Bajke Pohorje i Istre”, which will offer innovative ways of experiencing the area of natural and cultural heritage through stories that visitors will discover on the run routes, independent research through digital content within the festival and using other appealing methods.
To preserve the intangible heritage are key people who nurture, preserve and transmit to new generations. The tourism product will be created by the collaboration of all the stakeholders who will be connected to the “Živa štrigarija” platform, which will also take care of its active preservation after the completion of the project. “Živa štrigarija” will connect bidders and destination areas and enrich the offer of the wider area. In the hinterland of Pohorje and Istria will attract new visitors and thus create a stimulating environment for development and creation of new jobs for the local population of the cross-border area. The “Živa štrigarija” project is a unique opportunity to continue the institutional long-term and sustainable way of preserving the beatific heritage of central Istria and Pohorje.
