About Festival
We're proud to present our project LegendFest - Istria's Folk Tales, Legends and Myths Festival. Istria's old customs, costumes, taste of great wine, balun dance, roženice (Istrian long flute) and Glagolitic scripts... Giants, witches, pirates, fairies, Venetians, runaways, emperors, and bishops were walking around Pićan...
Each year the festival will host a different country, which will present itself through theater shows and other similar programs. This year the guest country was Italy.
About Pićan
Pićan - mediaeval town some 30 kilometers from Rabac. It had been the bishop's diocese since 7th century, which can be seen by a number of valuable sacral objects and paintings stored in the church or parish museum.
One of the most remarkable items is the bishop's cape embroidered in golden fiber - a gift by the queen of Austria Maria Theresa.
Pićan is also famous for its excellent wine, as had been confirmed early in the 20th century by Ferdinand Habsburg. The church tower, extending for 48 meters, is the third highest tower in Istria.
